Olive Czechs

Continued experiments with a white rabbit pelt and Veniard dyes led me to these nymphs.

The abdomens are dyed Golden Olive, Medium Olive and Brown Olive. The last one is natural hare belly for comparison. The hotspots are Hot Orange and Light Claret, front part is natural hare dubbing from the back. Shellback is Honey colored Body Stretch and ribbing is 0.16 mm mono spinning line.

  1. Hello! I've been following your blog for a while now and I've got to admit, among the many top quality flies you've tied, these are superb. Keep up the good work. Cheers, Patrick

  3. Really sweet Chechs ! There's no lead on them, isn't it ? I've tied similiar ones, but much fatter. I was using these hooks :

  4. Thanks Krystian :)
There is one layer of flat lead there, exactly like on the photos my SBS page.
The flies only seem thin, as they are tied on rather large hooks (size 8).
